I’m Caryssa, the heart and hands behind Bear Lake Botanicals. My path to herbalism started among ancient trees, working as a Propagation Specialist at Archangel Ancient Tree Archive.

 

​It was there that I truly fell in love with plants again—their power to heal, to inspire, and to connect us back to the Mother Earth. That love sparked a journey of learning, creating, and reconnecting with my roots, leading me to study herbalism at Herbal Academy and ultimately, launching my small business, Bear Lake Botanicals.

Rooted in my love for nature and inspired by childhood memories of Michigan’s wild beauty—especially time spent camping in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I create a variety of offerings, from herbal teas, tinctures, salves and so much more. Each product is thoughtfully crafted with sustainably sourced ingredients and a deep respect for the land that we call Earth.

For me, herbalism is more than making products—it's about reconnecting people with nature, fostering community, and promoting holistic wellness. It’s my way of weaving creativity, wellness, and environmental stewardship into something tangible and meaningful. You can find me at local farmers markets, festivals, and pop-up events around the Great Lakes region.
